EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team is in 13th place after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Ponte Verda Beach, Fla.
NU shot rounds of 289-312=601 to put them 33 strokes behind tournament leader Florida (284-284=568). Sawgrass Country Club is a 6,895-yard, par-72 course.
Individually, senior Luke Donald stands in seventh place, five shots behind tournament leader David Bennett of North Florida. Donald shot rounds of 67-74 for a three-under score of 141.
Freshman Tom Johnson is 38th after rounds of 73-75=148 (+4). Sophomore Scott Harrington is in 65th at +11 -- after a first-round 69, Harrington ballooned to a second-round 86.
