EVANSTON, Ill. - The No. 15 Northwestern women's tennis team has been invited to compete in the 14th annual United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis. The Tournament will run this weekend, beginning Thursday (Feb. 15) and continuing through Sunday (Feb. 18).
The premiere team tournament will feature 16 of the top teams in the country, headlined by defending NCAA champion Georgia. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 2 in the latest WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
The Wildcats will play No. 6 UCLA in the opening round of the tournament at 3:30 p.m., and with a win would face either No. 22 Washington or No. 11 Vanderbilt in Friday's second round.
The Wildcats are currently 5-1 with wins over DePaul, BYU, Utah, Marquette and Alabama. Last year, the Wildcats fell to then-No. 5 Duke in the opening round of the tournament. NU went on to upset then-No. 5 Mississippi and then-No. 14 South Carolina in the final rounds of the tournament.

There will be consolation matches for the first-round losers on Friday and Saturday.
