EVANSTON - The Northwestern (4-7, 0-1) women's basketball team fell to the University of Iowa (6-5, 1-0), 95-61, in Carver-Hawkeye Arena Thursday night.
From the opening tip, the Hawkeyes were hot and never looked back, as they had all five starters in double-digits. Iowa started the first half with a 15-2 run, but the Wildcats managed to get within 16 to end the half.
Iowa came out of the lockerroom and continued to dominate, cruising to a 95-61 victory.
Emily Butler led the 'Cats with 16 points. Bill?e Russell and Tami Sears each added 10.
Northwestern is back in action on Thursday, Jan. 4, when they travel to Penn State for a 6 p.m. contest.
