Amy Balcerzak Breaks American Swimming Record

Evanston, Ill. - Amy Balcerzak broke the American short course record in the 50 meter breaststroke at the Fina World Cup meet in College Park, Md. Balcerzak posted a time of 31.19, a half second ahead of second-place finisher Katie McClelland from Denmark. She also won the 200 meter breastroke and placed third in the 100 meter IM.


Balcerzak was a 20-time All-American for Northwestern and was also named the 2000 Big Ten Swimmer of the Year.
