Women's Volleyball Ends Season With 3-1 Loss to Michigan

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern volleyball team lost to Michigan, 3-1 (15-11, 13-15, 15-3, 15-5) in its final regular season match on Saturday (November 25) at Cliff Keen Arena. With the loss, the Wilcats finish with a 5-25 overall record and 2-18 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines improve to 18-13 overall and 8-12 in the Big Ten.

Senior Carmen Burbach (Columbus, Neb./Scotus Central Catholic), who became Northwestern's seventh member of the elite 1,000-1,000 club earlier this season, recorded her 13th double-double of the season. Burbach tallied 19 kills and 10 digs to lead Northwestern. In addition to the double-double, Burbach had one block solo and one block assist.

Freshman middle Erika Lange (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) had 11 kills on the night and added three block solos and four block assists. Molly Kamp (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore) led the defense with 12 digs.

The Wolverines hit .292 and outblocked the 'Cats 21 to 10 in the victory. Sarah Behnke had 22 kills to lead the Michigan offense, while Alija Pittenger picked up 17 digs.
