Men's Golf In Tenth After Day One of Windon Memorial

EVANSTON, Ill. -

The Northwestern men's golf team is in tenth place after day one of the Windon Memorial golf tournament held at The Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill. The course is par 72-6,920 yards.

Leading the 12-team field is Southern California, shooting rounds of 294-284=578. USC also has the top two individual leaders in Nick Jones (70-69=139, -5) and Hunter Mahan (72-68=140, -4).

Individually, senior Luke Donald, leads NU after the first two rounds in a tie for fourth. Donald shot rounds of 72-70=142 to put him 2-under par.

David Shaffer is next in line sitting in 26th after the first 36 holes. Shaffer finished the day at 5-over-par, shooting rounds of 74-75=149, +5.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. off both the No. 1 and No.10 tees.
