EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team posted a 6-over par first round score and sit in fourth place at the Preview by Ping and Golfweek. The team was 1-over-par in the second round before play was suspended. The tournament is being held at Duke University Golf Club in Durham, N.C., a par-72, 7,054-yard course.
Play was suspended due to inclement weather late Monday afternoon. At the time of the suspension, Georgia maintained a three-stroke lead at 1-over-par. Northwestern is six strokes behind at 7-over-par.
Individually for the `Cats, Luke Donald and Scott Harrington are both 1-over-par with Tom Johnson plus-2 for the day. Also for the `Cats, Chris Thayer is 3-over-par and David Shaffer is plus-5.
The tournament has been shortened to 36 holes, with play resuming at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. Northwestern was on holes seven through nine and will finish the round to complete the tournament.
