The Northwestern University women's volleyball team fell to 13th-ranked Colorado State in three games, 3-0. The match was part of Day Two competition at the US Bank Tournament in Lincoln, Neb. The 'Cats fall to 0-2 on the season.
In game one, the Rams jumped out to a 10-0 lead as Angela Knopf had four kills, a block and a service ace during the stretch. The Wildcats came back to score the next two points on a kill by Sarah Ballog (Coto De Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita) and a block by Lindsay Pavlik (Laguna Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) and Ballog. It wasn't enough, as the 'Cats failed to make a come back.
Game two saw nine service errors between the two squads, but the Rams were able to hold on for the victory. The last game was all CSU as the 'Cats scored just three points.
Freshman Erika Lange (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) led Northwestern with nine kills and finished with three block assists.
