Luke Donald Wins in First Round of Match Play at U.S. Amateur

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern golfer Luke Donald advanced to the second round of match play at the 100th U.S. Amateur Championship, defeating Sean Knapp (Oakmont, Pa.) 2 and 1 at the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.

Donald advanced to the 32-player second round (down from an original count of 310) where he will face Andy Miller (Napa, Calif.). Miller defeated Greg Kennedy (Duluth, Ga.) 5 and 4 to advance.
