EVANSTON, ILL. - Northwestern women's golf coach Chris Regenberg was named Midwest District Coach of the Year by the National Golf Coaches Association. Voted on by her peers, it is the first time she has received the honor.
Regenberg led the Wildcats to its first ever NCAA Championship berth. Northwestern finished second at the East Regional by three strokes and ended their season placing 24th at the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore. NU finished the season ranked 26th by Golfweek magazine. For the year, NU never finished below sixth in any regular season tournament. Regenberg is a Class "A" PGA Member and has been the head coach all eight years of the program's existence.
