EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team sits in fourth place after round one of the Lady buckeye Invitational held in Columbus, Ohio. The tournament is taking place at the Ohio State Scarlet golf course, a par-72, 6,126 yard course. NU shot first and second round scores of 316-318 to put them in fourth place. The `Cats are just 10 shots behind leader Michigan State (314-310=624).
Elizabeth Burden is leading the way for the Wildcats shooting rounds of 77-79 to put her in a tie for seventh. She is just five strokes behind tournament leader Kasey Grant of Michigan State. Emily Gilley is right on her heels as she finished with a two round total of 157 to put her in a tie for 11th. Gilley shot rounds of 79-78.
