EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team stands in first place after one day at the Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio. NU shot rounds of 297-285 for a total of 582 to put themselves nine strokes ahead of second place Ohio State (298-293=591).
Senior Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) sits on top of the leaderboard after shooting rounds of 70-68=138, while Luke Donald (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England/Royal Grammar School) is in second place after rounds of 74-69=143.
Senior Daniel Riskam is in a tie for 14th after shooting rounds of 75-74 while sophomore Chris Thayer (Richmond, Va./Godwin), playing in his first collegiate tournament, chipped in with rounds of 78-75 to put him in 33rd place. Senior Josh Habig (Jasper, Ind./Jasper) finished the first two rounds with scores of 80-74=154, putting him in 45th.
