EVANSTON, Ill. - Sophomore pitcher Gabe Ribas (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) was named the Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week. He shares the award with Minnesota's Kelly Werner.
Ribas spearheaded Northwestern's first Big Ten victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, shutting down Indiana University. The sophomore scattered just four hits in shutting out the Hoosiers, throwing just 77 pitches in the process.
Ribas currently leads the Big Ten with a 2.01 earned run average and has a 5-2 record.
