LOS CABOS, Mexico - The Northwestern men's golf team shot a seven-over par 295 in the first round of the 2000 Compaq U.S. Collegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico and stands in ninth place overall. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Luke Donald who shot a three-under par 69. He stands in a tie for sixth-place. Also pacing the 'Cats was Jess Daley who shot a one-under 71.
Florida leads the tournament, carding a 17-under 271. Individually, the Gators' Bubba Dickerson leads the field with a seven-under 65. Teammate Ben Banks was in second with a 67.
The second round will be shown live on ESPN from 11 to 1 p.m. CT, will the final round on Sunday will be aired taped delay on ESPN2 from 1 to 3 p.m. CT.
