EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern softball team (6-10) dropped its third straight at the Hillenbrand Invitational, falling to Tulsa, 4-3. Tulsa jumped on the Wildcats for two runs in the first inning and added another to take a 4-0 lead after four innings. NU got one back in the fifth as Tami Jones (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real) laced an RBI-single to score Brittany Nelson (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley). Trailing 4-1 in the seventh, Northwestern mounted its final charge. Jones lined a two-out, two-run single to make it 4-3, but the Cats were unable to score the tying run. Jones finished 2-for-4 and drove in all three NU runs.
