EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (5-4) had its five-game winning streak snapped as Butler rallied from a 5-3 deficit to knock off the Wildcats, 7-6, at the Aces Diamond Classic in Evansville, Ind.
After falling behind 3-0 after one inning, NU's offense came alive in the third, as the 'Cats erupted for five runs. Junior shortstop Jeremy Kurella (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season and junior catcher Joe Hietpas (Appleton, Wis./North) had three hits, including two doubles, to pace the offense.
