EVANSTON, Ill. - The No. 18 Northwestern women's tennis team has been invited to compete in the 13th annual United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis. The tournament will run this weekend, beginning Thursday (Feb. 17) and continuing through Sunday (Feb. 20).
The premier team tournament will feature 16 of the top teams in the country, headlined by defending NCAA champion Stanford. The Cardinal is ranked No. 1 in the WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
The Wildcats will play No. 5 Duke in the opening round of the tournament at 7:30 p.m., and with a win would face either No. 49 Wisconsin or No. 3 California in Friday's second round.
The Wildcats are currently 5-0 this season with wins over Alabama, South Alabama, Texas A&M, Houston and Texas Christian. Earlier this season, the Wildcat tandem of Katherine Nasser and Colleen Cheng defeated the nation's top-ranked doubles team of Ondrejkova/Purlesova (South Alabama), 8-3.

There will be consolation matches for first-round losers on Friday and Saturday.
