EVANSTON, Ill. - The 18th-ranked Northwestern women's tennis team defeated Houston, 5-1, Sunday afternoon to complete a three-match sweep of the Lone Star State for the weekend. The Wildcats defeated Texas A&M (6-3) and TCU (5-1) earlier in the weekend.
Northwestern won five of the six singles matches for the second straight day, rendering the doubles matches obsolete and so they were not played.
Northwestern's only loss came at the No. 1 position, where former Big Ten Player of the Year Katherine Nasser fell to UH's Gialina Seliounina. Lia Jackson, Marine Piriou and Jennifer Lutgert were all winners in the bottom half of the ladder, giving each of them a 3-0 record for the weekend.
