Two Women?s Soccer Players Earn All-Big Ten Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. - Seniors Kristen Palmer (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) and Erica Westrich (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) were named to the 1999 All-Big Ten team as voted upon by the conference coaches.

Palmer, a first-team selection for the second straight season, led the team in scoring with three goals and nine assists from her defender position. She graduates from Northwestern as the school?s all-time assist leader with 31.

Westrich, a second-team selection, earned All-Big Ten honors in each of her four seasons, including Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1996 and Big Ten Player of the Year last season. She is the school?s all-time leader in shots on goal (143) and is third on the assists list (11).
