EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (4-26, 2-18 Big Ten) gave Michigan State (20-10, 10-10) all they could handle before losing in three games, 15-12, 15-12, 15-9, in the Wildcats' season finale at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Junior Carmen Burbach (Columbus, Neb./Scotus Central Catholic) posted a double-double (12 kills, 13 digs) to lead the ?Cats. Seniors Leah Ackerman (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Highlands Ranch) and Kitty Owen (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) each added 11 kills in their final collegiate match. Freshman Kelli Meyer (Madison, Wis./Edgewood) had 43 assists for Northwestern.
