EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (1-1) dropped a 48-26 decision this afternoon in the first round of the Hoop and Quill Classic in St. Louis, Mo. Freshman Ben Johnson (Minneapolis, Minn./De La Salle) had nine points to lead the Wildcats.
The ?Cats played solid defense, holding the Purple Aces to 26 percent shooting from the field and their leading scorer, Craig Snow (23.5 ppg) to four points.
Northwestern returns to action tomorrow afternoon against the loser of the Southern Mississippi/Nebraska game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:20 p.m. and will be broadcast on WGN Radio 720.
