EVANSTON, Ill. - Chris Regenberg, head coach of the 22nd-ranked Northwestern women's golf team, announced today the signing of Hana Kim (Encino, Calif./Brentwood) and Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) to National Letters of Intent to play golf at Northwestern University beginning in the fall of 2000.
?Hana Kim is a superior player in all facets of the game ? mentally, physically and mechanically,? said Regenberg. ?Her tournament experience and success to date put her within the top 11 junior players in North America. Hana will achieve great success within the Big Ten as well as nationally. The Northwestern University women?s golf program looks forward to establishing a new level of national prominence with the addition of Hana Kim.?
Of Grzebien, Regenberg said, ?Lauren possesses an outstanding work ethic and attitude for the game of golf. Her success, talent and discipline put her in an elite class of players. We are very pleased that she has selected Northwestern University.?
Kim chose Northwestern over North Carolina, Wake Forest, USC, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Tulane, and UCLA. Grzebien chose Northwestern over Penn State, Tulane and Notre Dame.
