Nov. 16, 1999

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men?s soccer players Matt Keeler (Portage, Mich./ Portage Northern), Nick Spoerke (Lakewood, Colo./Wheat Ridge) and Brandon Swalve (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) were selected to All-Big Ten teams this year.

Keeler became the first Wildcat to receive first team honors since Northwestern men?s soccer joined the conference in 1991. He led the Big Ten in saves with 97. Spoerke and Swalve received second team honors, as Swalve received the honor for the second straight year.

This is the first time in school history three members of the men?s soccer team have been named to the All-Big Ten team. It concludes a season that saw Northwestern go 2-3 in the conference for the first time ever and also win a Big Ten tournament match.
