EVANSTON, Ill. - With its best record ever in the Big Ten, the Northwestern men's soccer team earned the fourth seed in this year's Big Ten Tournament, which will be contested this weekend at Michigan State.
As a result, the Wildcats will meet Wisconsin in one of Friday's two first-round matches. Penn State and Michigan State meet at 12 noon ET, with NU and the Badgers facing off at 2:30 p.m. ET.
On Saturday, Ohio State meets the winner of PSU-MSU at noon, while top-seeded Indiana takes on either Northwestern or Wisconsin at 2:30. The Big Ten tournament championship match takes place Sunday at 2 p.m., with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Earlier this season, NU defeated Wisconsin, 1-0, when Jun Kim scored a late goal. Overall, the Wildcats finished 5-13 (2-3 Big Ten), while the Badgers went 6-12-1 (1-4 Big Ten).
