EVANSTON, Ill. - No. 1 Penn State had little trouble with Northwestern Saturday night, making the Wildcats their 72nd consecutive victim at State College, 3-0.
Game scores were 15-7, 15-5, 15-4.
The Nittany Lions simply overpowered NU, as Lauren Cacciamani had 17 kills and Amanda Rome added 10 kills. For the Wildcats, Leah Ackerman had eight kills and 11 digs. As a team, the 'Cats hit just .157, compared to .402 by PSU.
Northwestern is now 2-20 (0-12 Big Ten), while Penn State is 22-1 (12-0 Big Ten).
Northwestern will be home next weekend for two matches, hosting Minnesota Friday night and Iowa Saturday night. Both matches will start at 7 p.m.
