EVANSTON, Ill. - The top-ranked Northwestern men's golf team is tied for second out of 20 teams after one day at the Nelson. The event is being hosted by Stanford.
The Wildcats shot 285 in Friday's first round and is tied with Colorado, one shot behind Colorado State.
Jess Daley is the top ?Cat, shooting 68 to put him in a three-way tie for second place, one shot behind leader Martin Maritz of Tulsa. Luke Donald, the defending NCAA champion, is tied for ninth overall after shooting 70, while Scott Harrington is tied for 15th at 71.
Josh Habig and Daniel Riskam both shot 76 and are tied for 71st.
The Nelson continues Saturday and Sunday with single rounds being played each day.
