Men's Soccer Falls to Northern Illinois, 3-1

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's soccer team lost to Northern Illinois, 3-1, dropping the Wildcats to 1-8 on the season. David DeHorn scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the 64th minute.

Brandon Swalve and Jun Kim led the attack with three shots apiece, while Grant Trimble had two. Senior Matt Keeler started in the goal and had a pair of saves, while Chris Berlin made four stops in the second half. For Northern Illinois, Dan Parisi scored a pair of goals while Jason Ryder notched a single tally.

Northwestern is now off until October 8, when the Wildcats take on the top-ranked team in the nation, Penn State, at 4 p.m. in State College, Pa.
