Women's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Iowa

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's volleyball team fell, 3-0, to Iowa Friday night in Big Ten action at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Game scores were 15-8, 15-11, 15-7 in favor of the Hawkeyes.

Sarah Ballog and Kitty Owen led the way for the Wildcats, recording nine kills apiece. Carmen Burbach had seven kills and 18 digs, while Jennifer Zagorski had seven kills and 11 digs. But NU had no answer for Iowa's Julie Williams, who smashed 23 kills and had a .347 kill percentage on the night. Sara Meyermann added 13 kills and 10 digs.

The women ? now 2-11 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten ? are back in action Saturday night, meeting Minnesota in Minneapolis at 7 p.m.
