Northwestern Women?s Golf Team Places 3rd at Northern Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern Women?s golf team finished tied for third in the 54-hole Lady Northern Invitational. The tournament was completed Sunday at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis. Purdue University claimed top honors with a team score of 896. Wisconsin shot a team score of 901 to place second while Northwestern and Ohio State each shot 915 to tie for third. Indiana rounded out the top five with a score of 917.

Three Wildcats finished in the top 20 as junior Christie Hermes and freshman Elizabeth Burden both shot 231 for the tournament to finish in 13th place. Burden is playing in her first collegiate sporting event. Sophomore Emily Gilley finished with a score of 233.
