EVANSTON, Ill. - Gavin Hoffman, who started last year at quarterback as a redshirt freshman, has announced that he will transfer to the University of Pennsylvania. In 1998 as a Wildcat, Hoffman completed 176 of his 323 attempts for 2,199 yards and 13 touchdowns. Since Penn is a Division I-AA institution, he will be eligible to play immediately for the Quakers.
"This was a very hard decision for Gavin to make," said Randy Walker, Northwestern head football coach. "We wish him nothing but the best."
