EVANSTON, Ill. - The Wildcats wrestling team opened the 1998-99 campaign this weekend at the Michigan Open in East Lansing, Mich. Senior All-American Sam Neider (Rocky River, Ohio/St. Edwardis) began the season by winning five consecutive matches on his way to claiming first place at 197 pounds.
All-American senior Mark Bybee (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) was also impressive, finishing second at 174 pounds. Senior Dominic Caruso (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville), senior Drew Pariano, junior Tom Ciezki (Evergreen Park, Ill./St. Laurence) and true freshman Josh Saul (Corena Del Mar, Calif./Calvary Chapel) also had strong showings, all finishing fifth at 125 pounds, 157 pounds, 184 pounds and heavyweight respectively.
