EVANSTON, Ill. - The 11th-ranked Northwestern women's swimming and diving team took first place in 16 of the 20 events, including all five relays, en route to capturing the Windy City Invitational championship hosted by UIC. Their team score of 800 points was enough to defeat the field of six schools.
Freshman Hyun Soo Suh (Seoul, Korea/The Bolles School) was the meets top scorer, tallying victories in each of her three races (200, 500, 1650-yard freestyle). Junior Kelly Igoe (Phoenix, Ariz/Sunnyslope) scored an individual victory in the 100-yard freestyle (53.75) and was a member of all five winning relay teams. Sophomore Tashy Bohm (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) continued her excellent season by winning the 100-yard backstroke (2:02.31) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.53). Bohm also took part in both the 200 and 400-yard medley relay victories.
The Wildcats return to action Thursday, Dec. 3 when they travel to College Station, Texas for the U.S. Open.
