Women's Soccer Gets Past Illinois, 2-1

October 2, 1998

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Wildcats' ninth-consecutive win came on the strength of goals from two reserve forwards, each having been in the game less than 10 minutes.

A goal by senior midfielder Erin Aubry (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) came on NU's first shot of the match, only nine minutes after Illinois opened the scoring. Aubry's goal, the product of a cross from junior midfielder Christie Molitor (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) and a deflection, was her first of the season. Three minutes later Molitor received an Aubry cross and powered a shot through for her second goal of the season.

The win was the Wildcats' fourth against a Big Ten team to whom they lost last year. Next match, Sunday October 4, 1:30 at Indiana.
