Women's Golf Moves Up to Sixth Place After Three Rounds of Big Ten Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team moved up from eighth to sixth place after three rounds of the Big Ten Championships, being played at Purdue's Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. NU posted a team score of 317 in Saturday's third round to give the Wildcats a 54-hole team score of 968. Ohio State leads the field at 937 followed by Indiana at 941.

Sophomore Christie Hermes (Dixon, Ill./Newman Central) fired a 79 on Saturday to move into a tie for 17th place at 242. There is a three-way tie atop the leaderboard at 228 between Indiana's Erin Carney and Ohio State's duo of Amber Amstutz and Natalie Mosher. Wildcat freshman Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) is tied for 24th place at 244.
