EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team stands in second place after two rounds of the Lady Buckeye Invitational, being played at Ohio State's Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. NU posted rounds of 312 and 309 for a 36-hole team score of 621. Ohio State leads the field at 601. Pepperdine and Purdue are tied for third, one stroke behind the Wildcats at 622.
Three Wildcats rank among the top 12 individuals after two rounds. Senior Amylou Dueck (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain) and sophomore Christie Hermes (Dixon, Ill./Newman Central) are tied for ninth place at 155, nine strokes behind tournament leader Amber Amstutz of Ohio State. Wildcat junior Karen England (Paris, Ontario, Canada/Paris District) is tied for 12th at 156. England recorded the tournament's lone birdie on Saturday on the par-5, 415-yard 12th hole.
