EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's golf team finished in sixth place at this weekend's 1999 Big Ten Championships, played at Purdue's Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
NU posted a team score of 312 in Sunday's final round to give the Wildcats a 72-hole team score of 1,280. Ohio State won the championship at 1,239 followed by Indiana at 1,251.
Sophomore Christie Hermes (Dixon, Ill./Newman Central) fired a final-round 73 on Sunday to tie for ninth place at 315. Indiana's Erin Carney won the individual crown at 301.
Wildcat freshman Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), who will compete in next weekends NCAA East Regional, tied for 28th place at 326. Final team and NU's individual results appear below.
