EVANSTON, Ill. -- Competing at home in one of the midwest's largest tournaments, Northwestern's women's fencers finished with the highest score out of 21 teams. Individual fencers registered independently at the United States Fencing Association Remenyik Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
NU's fencers shined in the women's sabre competition. Sophomore Adi Hermoni (Atlanta, Ga./North Springs) finished second among 20 women's competitors, followed by senior Margaret Magnarelli (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) in third and sophomore Carly Wells (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) in fourth. Wildcat high finishers in other competitions included Kristin Dorf, who finished fifth out of 38 competitors in the women's foil competition and Jennifer Greenebaum, who was 11th out of 42 in women's epee competition.
