Williamson's Bases-Loaded Single in the Ninth Claims the Win

EVANSTON, Ill. -Junior second baseman J.P. Williamson (Oak Park, Ill./River Forest) hit a three-run home run in the seven inning and drove in the game-winning run with a bases-loaded single in the ninth to cinch the victory fo Northwestern. The Wildcats emerged from a 12-2 fifth-inning deficit to win their second home game in two days. Riding four solid innings from freshman right-handed pitcher Andy Adams (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect), who was making his first collegiate pitching appearance, NU came back to score three runs in each of the last four innings for the win.
