EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head men's tennis coach Paul Torricelli announced that he will be running the first annual Wildcat Tournament Training Tennis Camp during three separate four-day sessions in June. The day camp is open to boys and girls ages 10-17 who are high school or tournament level players. The camp will be conducted at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center at 2310 Sheridan Road in Evanston.
The Wildcat Tournament Training Camps are designed to prepare boys and girls for the upcoming summer tournament schedule. Players will be offered a unique opportunity to develop their skills by learning fundamentals, footwork, tactics and strategy. A wide variety of competitive drills will guarantee improvement and preparation. Match play and evaluation, including video analysis will also be featured.
Torricelli will serve as director of the camp, while Northwestern assistant men's tennis coach Greg Davis will be co-director. Every instructor will be a tournament level and/or collegiate player, experienced in competitive coaching techniques. The student to coach ratio will be 5:1.
