Wildcat Athletes of the Week for May 3- 9, 1999

May 10, 1999

Kelly Campbell - Softball
Freshman pitcher Kelly Campbell (Anacortes, Wash./Anacortes) posted a perfect 3-0 record for the week to help the Wildcats finish the season with wins in four of their final five games. Campbell tossed a pair of complete games, including a two-hitter in the opener, in a doubleheader sweep at Wisconsin. On Saturday, Campbell settled down after a rocky start to earn the win in a 5-4 Wildcat victory over Purdue. For the week, Campbell was 3-0 with a 2.22 ERA and finished the season having won her last four decisions.

Jess Daley - Men's Golf
Junior Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) fired a final-round 70 to finish in a tie for runner-up honors at two-under-par 211 in the Wolverine Invitational at the University of Michigan Golf Course. Daley's second-round 67 was his second-best round of the year. The tie for second was the best finish of his career, and his third-straight top 10 finish, leading NU to a second-place team finish.
