Wildcat Athletes of the Week for August 30-Sept. 6
Female: Liz Renius, Volleyball
Senior setter Liz Renius (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) nudged five assists ahead of former Wildcat volleyball standout Jeanne Wohlberg (1991-94) to break the career school assist record. Renius had 58 assists in a win against Baylor, giving her 3,639 for her career. Renius also earned all-tournament honors at the Chicagoland Classic.
Male: David Mooradian, Men's Soccer
Junior midfielder David Mooradian (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) scored the game-winning goal in the Wildcats' season-opening victory against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Wildcats' first season-opening win since 1988. He scored again in Northwestern's 3-0 victory over Eastern Michigan. Mooradian scored his two goals on just four shots.
