EVANSTON, Ill. - Freshman left-hander Ryan Bos (Barrington, Ill./Lake Zurich) has been selected as the second-team relief pitcher among freshmen on Baseball America's "All-America Checklist," issued this week.
Bos, who has served as Northwestern's closer this season, is 1-1 with a 1.06 ERA in 15 appearances and 17 innings pitched. He leads the Big Ten with six saves, two ahead of his closest competitors.
Northwestern has won six of its last eight games, including three out of four last weekend against 1998 Big Ten Champion Illinois. This weekend, NU hosts doubleheaders against Penn State on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.
