EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern men's golf team, ranked 13th in the country, received the No. 2 seed out of District 4 for next week's NCAA Central Regionals, scheduled for May 20-22 at Ohio State's Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. The Wildcats will be paired with Nebraska and Texas, the No. 2 seeds from Districts 5 and 6, in the tournament's opening round. Other Big Ten Conference schools to earn berths into regionals were Minnesota, Illinois and Purdue.
A total of 21 teams have earned a berth into the Central Regionals. The top 10 teams, plus the top two individuals not on those teams, will advance to the NCAA Championships, scheduled for June 2-5 in Minneapolis.
The Wildcats travel to Minneapolis this weekend, May 14-16, for the Big Ten Championships. The 72-hole tournament opens with two rounds on Friday followed by single rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Team and NU's individual results will be posted here daily.
