Kristen Palmer Named Co-Big Ten Soccer Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Kristen Palmer (Huntington Beach, Calif./ Marina) has been named Co-Big Ten Womens Soccer Player of the Week. Palmer contributed in two game-winning goals last weekend. Against Iowa on Friday, her corner kick led to the deciding goal, and she won Sundays game against Minnesota with a successful penalty shot.

Palmer is the anchor of a strong Northwestern defense which has only allowed seven goals in nine games this season. In addition to leading the defense, the senior has also scored three goals and had five assists. The Wildcats, ranked 11th in the country, are undefeated this season with a record of 8-0-1, 4-0 Big Ten.

Northwestern is at home this Friday to face Illinois. The match begins at 4 p.m. at Lakeside Field on Northwesterns Evanston campus.
