EVANSTON, Ill. - Two members of Northwestern's women's swimming and diving program have been honored by the Illinois Swimming Association, in a vote of the collegiate and university coaches of Illinois.
Junior Courtney Allen (Monument, Colo./Air Academy) was named Swimmer of the Year among University Division Women. Allen earned all-America honors at the NCAA Championships, placing second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.47) and sixth in the 100 freestyle.
Northwestern coach Jimmy Tierney was named Coach of the Year among University Division womens coaches. Tierneys team placed ninth at the NCAA Championships and third at the Big Ten Championships this season.
