EVANSTON, Ill. - Sophomore Brooke Siebel (Brentwood, Tenn./Father Ryan) has been named Big Ten Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Siebel hit .611 (11-for-18) last week with three home runs and 11 RBIs to lead the Wildcats to a perfect 6-0 mark. Among the highlights were a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Wildcats a 6-4 victory over Northern Illinois and a grand slam in a 6-4 win at Indiana. For the season, Siebel leads the team in batting average (.354), home runs (4) and RBIs (28). On the mound, Siebel went 4-0 to improve her overall record to 15-10. She leads the Big Ten in innings pitched (152.1) and is second in strikeouts with 95.
