Northwestern evened its record at the 1999 Price Oil Blue Gray Classic to 1-1 with an extra-inning victory over Vanderbilt this afternoon. NU scored the winning run in the top of the 10th inning when junior outfielder Kris Musselman (Indian Springs, Ohio) scored on a bases loaded fielders choice hit by sophomore first baseman Wes Robinson (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens). Northwestern came back from a 5-3 deficit to take the lead in the ninth on a two-run home run by sophomore catcher Joe Hietpas (Appleton, Wis./North). Sophomore shortstop Jeremy Kurella (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) hit a solo homer in the first inning.
