Freshman first baseman Matt Thompson (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) had four RBIs for NU and freshman right-hander Gabe Ribas (Brunswick, Maine, Brunswick) pitched two shutout innings for the win. Freshman Ryan Bos (Barrington, Ill./Lake Zurich) earned his eighth save, tying him for first in the Big Ten.
